The Impact of Food Insecurity in Urban Schools
Food insecurity is the lack of access to affordable and nutritionally balanced foods. As of 2018, approximately 40 million people are still at risk of hunger in the U.S., of which 12 million were children. As current students attending public schools, the presenters know the impact this can have on an individual student's academic success, general health, and brain development. The project aims to identify and explore factors of food insecurity in schools and investigate current and possible solutions.

Maternal Beliefs and Health
Pregnancy and childbirth are frequently treated as a medical emergency instead of as a significant biological event that may necessitate some medical help from time to time. In effect, medical interventions are used much more often than necessary. Newborns are greatly affected by intervention practices, and the negative ramifications have been documented through childhood into adolescence. Women tend to not be well-educated about innate processes or about medical options.
