Art and mindfulness can have a significant impact on a child's well-being. I taught mindful art projects to students ranging from 5 to 7 years of age that were involved with the YMCA's afterschool program in Grants Pass, Oregon. Students created gratitude cards, self-portraits, rock painting, collages, and drawing of objects while practicing different types of mindfulness. Through simple surveys I found that students greatly benefitted from these projects.
