Microplastics in the ocean are a global issue that the world is facing. The presenter sought to create a hands-on experience to foster compassion and care for the world. In a 5th grade classroom at Talent Elementary, students researched the harms of single-use-plastics. They were asked to critically reflect on their own plastic usage while being able to comprehend how single-use-plastics harm ecology. Once humanity is better informed, we can begin using more sustainable practices.
