High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is used to quantitatively determine the concentration of active ingredient in an antibiotic. Samples are obtained from a developing country (via a laboratory at the University of Notre Dame) that lacks the instrumentation for quantitative analysis. The goal of this project is to develop a time and cost-effective analytical method that can be used to verify the identity and concentration of components within a specific pharmaceutical.
