The purpose of this study was to investigate compassion collapse based on the number of individuals that appear in a series of images that elicit compassion. The group hypothesized that subjecting participants to a compassion meditation condition would increase the level of compassion shown towards groups of eight or more individuals compared to mindfulness, control and placebo conditions. Results from this study could contribute to the field of medical professionals.
